Step 1: Date the check

Step 3: Write the numeric amount of the check. In this case, $68.95
Step 4: Spell out the amount of the check. In this case, Sixty-Eight and 95/100
Step 5: Your checks will either say "For" or "Memo" in the bottom left-hand corner. Here you will write a reminder to yourself of what the check is for.
Step 6. Sign the check
